Putting my dogs up for sale...

Today I needed to run out for about 2 hours to get a pedicure, go to Target and go grocery shopping. The dogs were all mellow this morning and were pretty much lounging in the sun. Fifi was sleeping in the bedroom and I tried to wake her up to put her outside, but she was hunkered down. I decided to leave them where they could go in and out of the house, thinking "how much could go wrong?"

I left at 1:30 and got back at 4 and was welcomed with a scary sight. Nugget pulled a bunch of stuff down off the couch (one of Mike's bags, our raincoats from last weekend, and some other stuff waiting to be put away) and then went over to the entry way and grabbed the binoculars and of course one of Mike's golf shoes and went on a chew fest. I threw her out into the back yard and closed the door so I could clean up. She was looking very guilty. Fifi looked completely innocent, but I stuck her out there too. I called up Mike to report the damage and while looking for Zero I realized he had figured out how to get under the new fence that Mike put up so he could go into the porch and sleep in his dogloo. I needed to pick up my dad at 5 and had groceries to put away, so I went out to fill up the dog's water dish and rolled my ankle in one of the holes that diggy dog made in the yard (a new one!). Then I dropped my cell phone in the mud near the water faucet and the USB port got plugged with mud. Then I hobbled into the house to clean off my muddy flip flops and found that one of the beasts had peed in the house. Mike got an earful of expletives.

That all happened in the course of 30 minutes before I had to run out to get my dad.

I give up. Icing the ankle, going to the podiatrist tomorrow for the other foot, and mad at my dogs. Awesomeness. Perfect end to a way-too-short weekend!
